NDP1 Lead Facility Engineer (Mechanical) (Batam)

The NDP1 Lead Facility Engineer (Mechanical) will be part of the Data Centre team.

Location

Based in our offices in Batam, Indonesia.

Overview

The NDP1 Lead Facility Engineer (Mechanical) role will be responsible for operating, maintaining and improving all mission critical infrastructure (MEP) supporting the 24/7 uptime of Data Centre environments. Responsible for real time monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring system reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data centre daily operation and maintenance of mechanical system, including cooling tower, chillers, heat exchanger, CRAH, PAHU, CDU, dehumidifiers, pumps, FCU, valves, pipework, pressurization systems
  • Ensure all mechanical systems are operating in required parameters and redundancy for IT load, 100% SLA compliance and uptime
  • Perform mechanical system inspection, investigation, trend analysis, and capacity verification, manage all mechanical Incident, Problem and Thermal incidents
  • Provide overall leadership for all facilities technicians, assign tasks, manage shift coverage and ensure effective task prioritization
  • Mentor and develop engineer, technicians through training, coaching, assessment and review performance
  • Ensure all mechanical systems operating compliance with local regulations,
  • Drive mechanical systems efficiency initiatives including chiller staging, optimization of mechanical systems delta-T temperature, CDU water quality, white space airflow management
  • Support new build, expansion, retrofit, fit-out projects, review all mechanical designs, drawings, schematics, sequence of operation, MSRA, MOP, SOP, EOP, OMM
  • Witness commissioning tests including FAT, SAT, IST.
  • Support smooth handover from project to operations and RFS
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, manage and liaise with mechanical services vendors, contractors, consultants, designers
  • Maintain up to date as-built drawings, SMEOP, spare part, asset registers
  • Prepare monthly mechanical performance report, energy efficiency, and reliability report
  • Support audits, including certification audits, customer audits, customer technical reviews, customer tour and visit
  • Monitor BMS, BAS, DCIM data to ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency

Qualifications & Experiences

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities or operations management
  • Excellent communication during incidents and escalations
  • Fluent and able to communicate in English
  • Knowledge of electrical or mechanical trade background or degree
  • Ability to operate in Critical risk change execution with zero customer impact
  • Ability to develop and review Standard of Operations Procedure, Method of Procedure, Emergency of Operations Procedure, Incident Reports, Root Cause Analysis reports, CAPEX/OPEX budget forecast, asset management
  • Knowledge of menage MEP, Security, ICT related Change Management
  • Experienced in managing technicians, vendors, contractors, setting and managing critical metrics, negotiating quotations and contracts.
  • Experienced of using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, Customer Portals, BMS/DCIM
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external customers
