NDP1 Facilities Day Technician (Batam)

Position 

The NDP1 Facilities Day Technicians will be part of the Data Centre team. 

Location 

Based in our offices in Batam, Indonesia. 

Overview  

The NDP1 Facilities Day Technician is responsible for the daily operational support, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, incident response and support, and hands-on troubleshooting of building facilities. This role ensures smooth Data Centre building operations through self-performed PPM activities, corrective tasks, minor repairs, and customer all smart hands support for site operations. The Day Technician works closely with all staff in operations team and service delivery manager to ensure completion of all customer smart-hands request. 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance for building system such HVAC filter cleaning and replacement, plumbing, pumps, small electrical fixtures, lighting, general MEPF components. 
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify wear, defects, hazards, abnormalities.
  • Carry out corrective maintenance and minor repairs including building painting, sealing, patching, fixing hingers and locks, replacing bulbs, building handyman jobs.
  • Create CMMS change tickets and maintain accurate records of all PPM, corrective works in the CMMS.
  • Provide hands-on support for operational team when required.
  • Assist in escorting, guiding, and supporting contractors or vendors during maintenance activities.
  • Assist in escorting, guiding, and supporting contractors, vendors during maintenance activities.
  • Perform equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, cable patching, labeling, and inventory updates following instructions from specialist teams.
  • Support ad-hoc operational tasks such as equipment resets, basic measurement, and visual inspections. 
  • Respond to building-related incidents, alarms, and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Perform initial diagnosis for issues related to electrical fixtures, piping leaks, doors, minor HVAC issues, general building fabric defects. 
  • Escalate issues beyond scope to relevant engineers while providing initial findings and documentation.
  • Support root cause investigation by providing logs, photos, and on-site observations.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, consumables, update records accordingly.
  • Support facility moves, minor installation works, office fit0out tasks, and ad-hoc handyman activities.
  • Support emergency response, including fire drill preparation, mock drill and equipment checks. 
  • Assist with documentation, communication, and coordination during and after incidents. 

Qualifications & Experiences 

 Mandatory Requirements: 

  • Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Maintenance, or equivalent trade certification.
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, handyman or technician experience.
  • Basic understanding of building systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC).
  • Ability to perform minor repairs independently.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools and basic troubleshooting.
  • Physically fit to carry equipment and perform handyman tasks.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to support cross-functional teams.
  • CMMS system experience is advantageous.
  • Understanding of DC building facilities operations requirements, PTW system, LOTO procedures.
