The Mechanical Engineer is a full-time role and will be part of the Facility Operations team.

Overview
The Mechanical Engineer, Operations is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the data center’s mechanical infrastructure. This includes cooling systems, chilled water plant, air-side equipment, and supporting utilities. The role ensures uptime against SLA commitments, drives preventive maintenance, responds to incidents, and supports capacity in a live mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor mechanical systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC units, fan wall units (FWU), precision AC, thermal storage tank, pressurize and degassing system
- Monitor BMS/EPMS/BAS alarms and trends, and respond to deviations in temperature, humidity, pressure, flow, and differential temperature (ΔT).
- Perform routine rounds and equipment health checks, and keep accurate operational logs.
- Execute, supervise and document all preventive and predictive maintenance (PPM), corrective maintenance with third-party vendors.
- Review vendor work plans, MOPs/SOPs/EOPs, and method statements; verify work quality and close out service reports.
- Manage spare parts, consumables, and warranty claims for mechanical assets.
- Act as first responder for mechanical incidents and execute emergency operating procedures.
- Lead or support incident response, manage escalations, and contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in on-call and escalation rotations.
- Support commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and handover of new or modified mechanical systems.
- Review as-built drawings, test reports, and O&M manuals for completeness.
- Track and optimize PUE, cooling efficiency, and water consumption (including makeup water, COC, and blowdown).
- Recommend and implement efficiency improvements.
- Enforce HSE standards and safe work practices across all mechanical activities.
Qualifications & Experiences
Mandatory Requirements:
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in HVACR or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3 – 5 years of experiences as Mechanical Engineer as Operation in a data center.
- Solid understanding of HVAC, chilled water systems, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
- Experience with BMS/BAS monitoring and reading P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to write and review MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and incident reports.
- Willingness to work overtime, on-call, and occasional weekends or holidays.
- Experience in MEP commissioning or Level 3/4/5 testing.
- Certifications such as CDCP/CDCS. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with asset management tools.
