Connectivity Project Manager (Singapore)

Position

The Connectivity Project Manager is a full-time role and will be part of the Connectivity team.

Location

Based in our offices in Singapore.

Overview

The Connectivity Project Manager will work closely with the Chief Business Office and Project Director within the Connectivity Team. The role will be actively involved with a broad range of Connectivity projects from subsea to Hyperscale Data Centres and terrestrial networks. The role will also cover the identification and development of off-net, 3rd party connectivity to supplement the team’s core projects.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Connectivity Project Development Director, the Connectivity Project Manager is responsible for technical coordinating of new build or network deployment project in terrestrial or subsea cable environment – as a whole or in parts. The development is expected to be mainly in South-East Asia.

The Connectivity Project Manager has the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and co-ordinate the design and delivery of various connectivity projects – as a whole or in parts, working with internal and external Subject Matter Experts
  • Responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle fromplanning, procurement, permitting, installation and reporting of the connectivity project
  • Support each step of the project such as
    1. Identification of key sites,
    2. Technical design,
    3. Develop technical solutions, including the necessary components for a successful outcome
    4. Procurement of materials and contractors
    5. Supervision and acceptance of the project deliverables
  • Perform all necessary activities to secure permits with local authorities, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
  • Write and manage tenders, RFQ and RFPs,working closely with partners for construction / procurement of infrastructure and associated equipment
  • Assist in the procurement, testing and acceptance of 3rd part ‘off-net’ solutions
  • Manage the transition and handover from ‘project’ to ‘operations’ including assisting in the selection and engagement of suitable O&M service providers
  • Monitor and report on key project deliverables, including budget management
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, develop and lead improvement opportunities, leading ‘Learning from Experience sessions and encouraging the development of change management competencies within the team.

Qualifications & Experiences

  • At least 10 years of experience in the Telecommunication industry and ICT / connectivity ecosystem, particularly the deployment of terrestrial fibre-optic networks, and/or submarine cable experience
  • Well-developed computer literacy, specifically with Microsoft and Project Management tools
  • Strong commitment to zero harm, HSE and environmental compliance
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills, particularly project lifecycle planning and implementation
  • Ability to set key goals and targets, including monitoring and reporting on the outcomes
  • Organised and results-oriented approach, challenge-driven personality
  • Collaborative team player bringing a track record of working successfully as a member of multi-disciplinary deployment teams
  • Clear, advanced communication skills
  • Ability to directly interact with end customers, including providing project report updates and supporting the wider BW Digital team in client-facing meetings
  • Sharp attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and remotely to agreed objectives
  • Bilingual skills and appropriate tertiary qualifications may be beneficial
